The primary goal of Tuolumne Spay & Neuter is to provide low-cost spay and neuter surgeries to feral cat colonies, significantly reducing future litters and the spread of feral cat populations in our region. A single pair of cats, starting from when the female first goes into heat, can produce a staggering number of descendants over seven years. If left unchecked, this pair and their offspring could theoretically produce over 15,000 cats. This exponential growth underscores the necessity of proactive spay and neuter programs, especially in rural areas where resources are limited and stray and feral cat populations can rapidly spiral out of control.

For every $100 raised at the dinner, a feral cat will be spayed or neutered.

Sonora Cat Rescue exists to serve and protect the cat population in our area!

They do this by:

  • Fostering homeless cats in loving homes
  • Finding adoptive homes for cats
  • Working with local vets and clinics to spay and neuter as many cats as possible (both adoptable cats and through trap-neuter-return programs)
  • Feeding feral colonies
  • Partnering with PetSmart Charities to adopt out as many cats as possible
